An EHIC card is a EU healthcare card. It allows you to get medical care when you are in another EU country temporarily.
Your EHIC card (EU healthcare card) is proof that you have health insurance coverage in Europe. You get the same medical care as residents of the country where you are staying, for example if you become sick or have an accident on holiday. This card is free.
