If you work and live in the Netherlands, you might have questions about matters such as your work, home, income or rights. The Central Limburg region has an information point in Heythuysen that can help you.
Work in NL’s Heythuysen information point (in the Municipality of Leudal) has all the information you need. This information is clear and reliable and available free of charge. You can get help in Dutch, English and Polish, often from people who have been a newcomer to the Netherlands themselves.

Welcome to Central Limburg, a region that consists of the municipalities of Cranendonck, Echt-Susteren, Leudal, Maasgouw, Nederweert, Roerdalen, Roermond and Weert. Around 13,000 people from the European Union work in this region. Usually everything goes well. However, you might have some questions or need some help. We are here for you.
Working and living in the Netherlands
We hope that you are happy with your work and your home. When you work, it is also important that you get to relax and exercise and have some time off. We have lots of information that can help you find your way in the Netherlands.
Rights and duties
As an EU citizen, you have rights and duties. If you will be staying in the Netherlands for more than four months, you must register with the municipality. You will then be a temporary resident of one of our municipalities in Central Limburg.
Go to the municipality to:
- Register or change your address
- Get married
- Register a birth
- Apply for a driver's licence
- Register a death
- Report the theft of documents.
The Central Limburg information point
We can explain and help with the following matters:
- Housing
- Registering with the municipality
- Integrating and learning Dutch
- Traffic and fines
- Schools for children
- Allowances and taxes
If you would like to talk to someone in person, we have free advice sessions in Heythuysen. We will be happy to help you with your questions.
There is a separate desk for migrant workers, which provides help for you in your own language. Ms Marika van den Nieuwenhof works at the information point. There is no need to make an appointment. Just walk in.
Our aim
The information point helps EU migrant workers to have a pleasant time living and working in the Netherlands and have decent housing. We provide information and advice. Where necessary, we refer people to the right help.
