Business plan

A business plan will help you to start your own business. Think carefully about what you will do and how you will do it, and write this down in your business plan. 

Why should you make a business plan? 

A business plan shows you are serious. It also helps you decide if your business idea could work. Banks and investors normally want to see a business plan before they lend any money. Your municipality, UWV and Belastingdienst might also ask to see your business plan. A clear overview of your business is also is useful for you. 

What is in a business plan? 

Your business plan must answer the following questions: 

• About you: Who are you? What have you done before? What are you good at? Why do you want to have your own business? 
• About your business: What exactly are you going to do? Will you sell goods or offer a service? What is your way of working? 
• About your customers: Who are your customers? How many people want your product or service? How will you find customers? 
• About your competitors: Who offers the same product or service? What makes you different or better? 
• About money: What do you need in order to get started? How much do you think you will earn? What are your costs?
