If you work in the Netherlands and your work is unsafe, unhealthy or unfair, you can report this. You must always report the problem to your employer first. If that does not work, you can report it to the occupational health and safety service. If the problem continues to exist, report it to the Netherlands Labour Authority.
You can also file a report with the Netherlands Labour Authority. This agency monitors whether businesses comply with the law. You can report cases of your workplace being unsafe, or of your work causing you to become ill. A report can also be filed in the event of a workplace accident and you can also report instances of exploitation, underpayment, non-compliance with working hours regulations, bullying, or undesirable behaviour.
If you feel that your work is unsafe or unhealthy, you can talk to your boss about this. If this does not help and you still feel your workplace is unsafe, you can contact the occupational health and safety service or an occupational health adviser. In an emergency, call the emergency number 112.
If nothing changes, report the situation to the Netherlands Labour Authority. This organisation checks that businesses comply with the law.
A work accident must be reported to the Nederlandse Arbeidsinspectie (Netherlands Labor Authority) if someone dies, has a permanent injury, or is taken to the hospital. This is called a reportable work accident. Your employer must report this to the Netherlands Labour Authority.
You can also submit a report if you are underpaid, exploited, having to work too many hours, or dealing with unethical behaviour such as bullying or discrimination.
Talk to your boss or HR first. You can also speak to the works council, a confidential adviser, your employment agency or the company doctor. If this does not help, you can report the matter to the Netherlands Labour Authority. It checks whether businesses follow the rules.
